Biography

JN Welsh is a native New Yorker and natural storyteller. As a child in school, she was a voracious reader who stole her older sister’s romance novels. She graduated to writing entertaining love stories for her friends and the writer was born. Her love for romance continued to grow and she published her first novel, "Single by Choice?" in 2005. How do you approach cover design?

I have designed a cover or two but I have learned from working with professionals that everything that I think of having on the cover should be narrowed down to one or two elements. I have found some really great people during my career who have really done a great job in capturing my vision. Now, I think a brand is emerging.

What is your writing process?

I am normally inspired by something that I witness in real life and then the story forms in my head. After that, I normally just start writing because I have done some scene organization in my brain but kind of just write. Recently I have started to plan a little bit more but I do like the surprise of how a story turns out without too many restrictions. I almost always have music on when I'm writing to set the mood.
