John Paul Tancredi

Biography

John Paul Tancredi was born in 1965 in Santa Monica, California, and grew up in nearby Pacific Palisades. After attending Loyola High School in Los Angeles, he graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, in June 1987 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. During his time on the Westwood campus, he kept an informal diary that would later become the foundation for his first book, North Campus Days.

After graduating from UCLA, Mr. Tancredi worked in the financial services industry for several years as a technical writer and instructional designer. Along the way, he earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, but didn’t find the experience especially book worthy. Today, he has his own copywriting business, Spectrum Business Writing, and continues to work on various creative writing projects.

Mr. Tancredi lives in Brentwood, not far from the UCLA campus.
