What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are everything! They are easily half of the motivation for writing, the other half being my own need to get the story out. When I started out with my first book, Timebenders, I almost ran out of steam a few chapters in, but the readers' comments and reactions and suggestions kept me going until the story was done!
Who are your favorite authors?
I love Stephen King for his ability to paint a complete scene without being too verbose. He has a great talent at implying detail that I try to emulate.
For science, I'm a fan of the classics - Heinlein, Asimov - because they just feel more *real*. If you can understand how the science is plausible, and it's internally consistent, it makes the book that much more immersive. I spent a lot of time thinking, for example, about how Jake's power in Timebenders would work.
