Smashwords Interview

What are your books about?
I write historical fiction based on true crimes. All my books start off as Victorian or Edwardian newspaper articles that have captured my interest. I take one or more true crimes and weave them into historical fiction. More often than not, they feature at least one of my ancestors.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I lived all over the world and moved every two years. My childhood was spent in Malaysia and Cyprus. As a young adult, I lived in Germany. You might think I would write travel books, having moved around so much. Instead, it has focussed me on tradition. I am a genealogist as well as a writer. Most of my books are set in Suffolk, England where my family can be traced back to the 1500's.
