Jan Peregrine

Hi, friends! I'm a lifelong reader and writer. I think I'd die of boredom and life's meaningless if I didn't have books to read and write. For 14 years I reviewed books and movies of my choice at a now-defunct site called epinions.com. I was a Top Reviewer, enjoying the community and a bit of money from it. When it shut down I found plenty of time to write books and self-publish them on Amazon, so now I've found Smashwords and hope the experience is sweeter!

You will find my latest book here in ebook form, but I haven't decided if I should self-publish it in print form or just send it to publishers. I think I can do both, right?

Dr. Freudine Is In: The Tale's Tail can easily be a stand-alone, but the first two are lots of fun and reading them may help you love the characters more. The first is on audiobook and the second will be fairly soon. If you are a cat person, you might check out Eden in Purrgatory: A Satire that's told by cool, first-century cats, heh heh.

I live in Lincoln, Nebraska by myself, sidelined by a partial spinal cord injury just lower than Christopher Reeve's and am hoping to be able to get a disabled cat for company.

Smashwords Interview

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I'm reading book after book! I enjoy fiction and nonfiction, sometimes poetry. I haven't read too many series lately, but started out with Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, and Three Investigators. Then later it was Dirk Pitt by Clive Cussler. More recently I read the Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes series and Jane Austen Mystery series. I'm reviewing them also for my FB page and for The Compulsive Reader (those are Advanced Review Copies usually).
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I belong to an online book club based in England, but haven't read any yet as I just got an old Kindle from a friend. I get books from my public library and may find ebooks on hoopla.

Though this completes a romantic comedy trilogy, it may be read as a stand-alone. Our young, female psychiatrist is finding her own unique style in spite of glowering colleagues, a mentally sick boyfriend who was her first client, his provocative ex-girlfriend, challenging cats and clients, and much silliness. It ends on a note of great hope for her future in love, friendship, and psychiatry.
