Janie Brayshaw


Janie Brayshaw was born in Derbyshire. She was educated at Hull University and The Laban. She taught contemporary dance in schools and colleges in the north of England, was a project administrator and is now a freelance proofreader and copy-editor.

Her writing is dark, edgy and evocative, exploring the unravelling of unbalanced minds. Her novels are based on historical characters, individuals who can be found in the footnotes of history, and set against the backdrop of events in their lives.

The Widow’s Tale is her first novel.
