I really enjoyed reading this first novel by Barbara Riegel. I love characters in this novel. While reading this book I got to know the characters and got a better understanding what it must have been like to live in Seattle during the early 1900's. The author gives you a history lesson as you learn about life in Pioneer Square in Seattle during this time. Each chapter starts with original articles from the Seattle Times and or the Seattle PI which in keeping with the story helps give a feel for the historical context. I will look forward to future book by this author.
