I am the co-author of Fir, and have been a journalist for nearly 30 years – initially as the first film critic for The Bayside Times and Little Neck Ledger newspapers and later as the first film critic for The Queens Courier newspaper. I was additionally the Arts & Entertainment and Sports Editor for The Queens Courier, and also worked there as a reporter and its assistant news editor. Since then, I have been covering consumer electronics, videogames and other technology and media for almost 20 years, first for AudioVideo International magazine and later, for 15 years, at Warren Communications News, where I was a Senior Editor of the newsletter Consumer Electronics Daily. Currently, I am a freelance reporter and have contributed stories to publications including HomeTheaterReview.com, Dealerscope, New York Business Journal, Upstart Business Journal, The Street, This Week in Consumer Electronics (TWICE), Backerjack.com and the Consumer Electronics Association’s Digital America.

Tabatha is a nine-year-old girl who is lost in midtown Manhattan on Christmas Eve, after becoming separated from her parents. While wandering the streets, she comes across Noble Fir, a small tree that nobody wants as a Christmas tree because of his diminutive size. Fir is no ordinary tree, though, because he is very much alive.
