Jeffrey Brett

In an unforgettable era crossing the divide of music and fashion, my growing years traversed the 50's through to the 70's. During that period I experienced and witnessed many changes. These memories have stayed with me and appear in the background of many of my novels. As the years have been pencilled out on the calendars and decades have been immortalised in history, I have moved on in my personal life and having left my professionally life behind I now find myself with time to write the fiction that has long been inside, waiting for the moment when I could put pen to paper.
I don't have a bucket list because I have done most of the things that I ever wanted to achieve, but with a family now who I love and adore my one wish is to leave a legacy, something by which they can pick up a book that I wrote, read the content and associate me with that title.
Writing is easy, you add words to a page, but finding the right formula is a whole lot harder. To keep readers interested, you yourself have to like what you read. I have no particular genre, but write for the very young, teenage market and the discerning mature reader, believing that there is something between the covers for everyone!

Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your latest book?
Leave No Loose Ends - this is a fictional crime thriller with a number of surprising twists and where the end might not always prove to be the final act! The UK has a serial killer on the loose who leaves a trail of death and destruction wherever his travels take him, successfully evading capture for over ten years the police are no closer to getting their quarry, until a beautiful Italian journalist working in London who has been tracking the killer during that decade produces a startling hoard of information. Her long time friend is now a successful lawyer, but through his association he too become embroiled in a deadly game of cat and mouse. However, not is all what it seems, sometimes its not what or who you leave behind, but who will help when you're gone? Leaving behind no evidence at a crime scene is paramount to the killer, but throughout the book dark secrets are either uncovered or discovered, but are they the reason why he cuts his victim, before or after they die.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Time was the first answer that came into my mind. Time is in my opinion important to an author because so many ideas are floating around that need to be expressed in sequels and other books. Sometimes waiting around for literary agents and publishers to make a decision is not only time consuming and frustrating, but demoralising.
Having the opportunity to self-publish through an indie medium is exciting and instant. As the writer of a manuscript that has been worked on and put together with careful attention, bringing together the best that an author can deliver through eBooks the writer can give the reader what they want.
