Jennifer James

Biography

Jennifer James hates to talk about herself in the third person because it feels pretentious. But she'll do it. If she has to.

The burbs of Cleveland are full of potholes. Two tiny kids, a husband, a dog, and a super-hero assassin kitty cat all live with Jennifer James.

She writes erotica and erotic romance because she likes it. And also chocolate. And hard cider beverages. And Jack with Honey. And maybe jelly beans.

This book blends an amazing amount of mythologies, historical figures, monsters, religious practices, and even ecology. I found myself going, oh, yeah I recognize that, cool! or, whoa, how she get that into the story line? It's original in that way that great Urban Fantasy can be and mixes in romance and the bonds of fated mates. I really love that kind of bond in a story. Don't we all want that kind bond with our lover? There are plenty of interesting characters and danger mixed with politics and people who have pasts that are hidden - even from themselves. However, I found that I was often confused in the story line and grammatical errors left me irritated. A thorough line and content edit could have polished this book into a 4.5 or even 5 out of 5 for me. The ground work is so damn solid, and Ms. Wolfe has a new and interesting twist to give shifter, vamp, Fae, government conspiracy, and even, biological warfare. And it all works! I promise you. But it gets muddled in the technical errors. This book is definitely worth a look. The world building is really new and fresh.

A quick freebie that ties up the Irish Kisses series so nicely. :) Devlin is my favorite hero from the series, and I was thrilled to see him get his HEA. He and Liz have to make some life changes, and in the end, they're happier for it. I ended this shortie teary eyed and happy.
