Jerry Buckley is a commercial truck salesman in Nashville, TN. He attended a conservative Christian college in his home state of Tennessee, before earning a master’s degree in Communications from Murray State University. Buckley is a poet and an avid reader of the classics and southern Gothic literature.
Having endured a lifelong yin-yang relationship with the church - vacillating from believer to skeptic, from missionary to backsliding vagabond - he has stepped on, and fallen off each rung up the stairway to heaven. This perspective saturates the narrative of “Roll the Gospel Chariot”; that is, the unsettled mindset of a believer with doubts.
Buckley has been married for over thirty years, is father of two grown sons; and now the doting granddaddy to two young granddaughters. Buckley is a high schools and collegiate soccer official, with over twenty-five years of experience. He and his wife currently reside in Brentwood TN, along with their beloved half Labrador dog “Ice”.
