Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I vaguely recall a short story I wrote in elementary school. It was a fantasy story, something about the typical "save the princess" shenanigans. My memory is a little fuzzy, though - it's been ages!
How do you approach cover design?
I try to come up with a basic concept, then expand on it. With Heartstorm, for example, it started as "girl with hooded face". It then expanded to adjusting the eye color, picking which font to use, etc. I then run the concepts by friends and family members for opinions, then make adjustments before consulting with forums and the like to see what people think. And by forums, I usually mean "I ask someone on NaNoWriMo's site".
Online college students Ryan Mackay and Emma Brooks discover they live in the same town. The build a relationship, while struggling with their inner demons. But after Emma is kidnapped, will Ryan be able to assist in finding her - or will his anxiety prove too much of a struggle?
A short story from independent author Jessica Perez, Razorblade Concerto tells the story of high school junior Savannah and her last moments of life as she walks a self destructive path.
This story was mentioned in Perez's novel, All I Need, as a work of Short Fiction written by Regina Lanning, one of the main characters..
