I found the Jackie Blue character to be very appealing, with strong family values and very funny. Jackie lives in a trailer park so as to fund her kid sister's college expenses. The pace of the novel keeps you turning pages as the plot unfolds into less about solving a stolen diamond case and more about trying to bring down a global jewel theft organization that has its claws wrapped around one of the characters, Frank, the customs officer. The Iranian mob sub plot I thought was pretty original. And two of the main characters do not turn out to be who they were throughout the novel in the fantastic ending of the story. I won't blow it, but the end had me shocked to say the least. Definitely one of the better mystery endings I've read in a while. The dialogue throughout is super casual which I thought added to the characters.
