J.K Imathiu is a writer based in Nairobi, Kenya. She studied Mass Communication and Journalism and went on to practice journalism in print. She worked as a magazine columnist, editor, and regional newspaper columnist as well as writing for the web.

Who are your favorite authors?
Danielle Steel, Sidney Sheldon, Barbara Taylor Bradford, and Penny Jordan are my favorite authors.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing, I like to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Being in new places with different people gives me ideas and when I sit at the writing desk again, it is with fresh perspective and energy. I go out to do the mundane like grocery shopping, to get a coffee at the coffee shop or the more adventurous like going out of town for some secluded and dedicated writing time.
I'd always walked a straight path and gone over and above the call of duty in doing my job. When I was unexpectedly let go, I lost it. Forced to relocate to one of the most crime-ridden parts of the city, my anger and bitterness lead me to a life of crime. With my gang, we pull off a number of high-risk jobs. Getting away with it gives me a high that I become addicted to...until I go too far.
