Joseph Poff


Joe has been a CPA since 1982 and was a 50% owner of a large CPA firm in Seattle, WA until he sold his interest several years ago.
As a CPA Joe has worked with businesses of all sizes and has seen all of the typical issues faced by a business owner. Joe has also worked extensively with individuals and their unique financial issues.
He recognized early that informational systems would become extremely important and as such has designed, implemented and customized large scale accounting and information systems for years. Joe is also a seasoned programmer and SQL database designer and through his companies he has developed several commercial software products for consumers and businesses.
He was given awards for the "Most innovative user of technology for the year" from the Washington Society of CPA's (WSCPA) (state society) and for the nation from the American Institute of CPA's (AICPA). These were in recognition of his application and development of computer processes solving certain business needs.
In addition to being a licensed CPA - Certified Public Accountant, he also holds the designations of CGMA - Chartered Global Management Accountant and CITP - Certified Information Technology Professional. Both are additional sought after certifications for qualified CPA's.
He holds multiple trademarks and has a patent pending. He is also a private pilot and musician.
Writing has always been a passion for Joe, whether it's corporate documents, letters to clients, or notes to friends. With his 10 Minute Financial Latte with Joe series he hopes to share key points of various financial topics in an easy to read and grasp format.
