When did you first start writing?
I guess I'm what you might call a "late bloomer" as I didn't start writing fiction until my mid 40's.
I work in engineering but knew I wanted to do something else, something unusual, but I didn't know what. Then one day I was almost hit by a truck crossing a road, and started thinking about what would have happened if I had witnessed a stranger being hit, and when I went to help saw a gun and my photo next to them on the road. That was the day I started thinking in stories and writing them down.
I sometimes think of myself as an accidental author.
What is your writing process?
It seems everyone has their own process. Mine is to write the first scene of a story and the last, then write a whole lot of fun scenes that will hopefully fit in the story to take the hero (and reader) from the beginning to the end. I also write slowly, and edit as i write, so when I finish a scene I might only write 150 words in an hour, but those 150 words will be very close to the finished text.
Most of my book was written on a broken old laptop (I'm writing on it now), because the most important thing for me in getting a book written is not the tools, its the discipline to actually sit down and write,
