When did you first start writing?
I've been writing since I could put crayon to paper. I always created stories when I was a young child -- about myself, imaginary friends and family members. When I learned how to print, my mom encouraged me to write them down. She even bought me a child's typewriter for my sixth Christmas!
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Fantasy is always fun, and when you're a fiction writer, you have the opportunity to create new worlds and characters that can make readers laugh, cry, shout out in anger or squeal for joy. It's about creating and stirring emotion. And when you can transport readers into another world, it's really quite magical.
