Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Oh my gosh. The first story I ever wrote was a teen romance. Like a YA type story. I was probably still a preteen, laying on the floor with my three subject note book and pencil just writing away. It was called Explicit Friendship and I remember the girl character hit her head or something under water while trying to grab something shiny and a boy pulls her out. It was all so cheesy, but that's the kind of stuff I was reading. So I was writing stuff like that. I don't know how I knew the word explicit, but there you go.
What is your writing process?
My writing process involves a lot of coffee, followed by a lot of water. I usually turn on some mood appropriate music and just sit down. Sometimes I map out a story, sometimes I free write until I get something good going and take it from there. I use the computer, but I feel like I get better energy in a piece if I'm writing with pen and paper. I just feel closer to it.
I tend to write a few pages, several hundred words, then take a break for a few minutes, then go back to it. Sometimes I'm at home, sometimes I need a change of scenery though.
