Born in London in 1959, I'm a teacher, now part-time, in Bristol where I graduated at the university in English in 1980. I'm married to Sarah with one child, Robert. My love of Bristol, I hope, comes through in 'Love Reading'. Bristolians will recognise many of its settings even though I have deliberately chosen not to name them, as I want readers anywhere to be able to imagine the events could happen where they live. Though my membership of the wonderful Saint Matthew's church (Kingsdown, Bristol) since 1995, and its lovely book group since about 2003 contributed to inspire me to write the novel in 2011, I must stress that there is no similarity between any of my characters and any actual people!

One amazing year in a book group's reading and love life - which are often in striking parallel.
Lucy adores - and seems loved by - Benedict, but when beautiful, devastating Francesca joins the group, Lucy senses his love's ebbing away. Indeed, there's turmoil for the whole group.
Enjoy the 12 classics they LOVE READING that year, and how they reveal dangerous, conflicting emotions in us all.
