Belinda Kamshuka Barrocks
Belinda ‘Kamshuka’ Barrocks is an award winning Photographer, Entrepreneur and Community Leader. She is passionate about bringing change and impact using her story as a war child Survivor. She was the recipient of the the 2010 Aroni Award for commitment to youth and entrepreneurship and was also the winner of 2014 Black Canadian Awards Best Photographer. As a motivational speaker and mentor to so many young girls and women locally and globally, she continues to use inspirational discussions and round table forums to communicate the importance of knowing who you are and how to reach your goals ahead.
In 2010 she was one of 12 Phenomenal Women changing our world by Planet Africa Magazine, and more recently selected as 1 of 100 Black Women to watch in Canada this 2015. In 2013, she combined her passion for people and art and traveled to the congested and overpopulated city of Calcutta, and helped serve and bring relief to women living in brothels, sold to sex slavery. Belinda has shared her talent for photography and public speaking to exotic lands such as Dubai, the Island of Bahrain, the Bahamas, South Africa and back to her homeland of Uganda. “Kamshuka” has had success with her Gallery Shows in Toronto, raising funds for charities such as Sick Kids Canada and The Canadian Cancer Society the past 6 years. She’s also hosted branding and image workshops in the city of Toronto to empower upcoming business owners to keep the fire burning.
As a full time certified Life Coach and Motivational Speaker, Belinda also continues to mentor and speak at local high schools as a facilitator for the Mentorship program “Ahead of the Game”. Her motivational speeches and creating uplifting presentations on self-confidence, perseverance, faith and understanding your mental attitudes is powered by love and fearless behaviour, as she declaring: “The are no limitations except those in your mind”. Constantly reminding people they are Warriors & need to approach life with that Spirit.
