The sixth annual Kāpiti Coast District Libraries poetry contest – If You’re a Poet, We Want to Know It -- invited poets once again to submit up to three haiku (reprising our successful haiku form competition from 2017). Haiku is a traditional short Japanese poetry form which has enjoyed popularity around the world.

Included in this anthology is every submission the library received, a total of 81 poems, in each of three age groups: Children (6–12), Teens (13–18) and Adults (19+).
The third annual Kapiti Coast District Libraries poetry contest – If You’re a Poet We Want to Know It – is aimed this year to encourage and celebrate humorous poetry in its many forms: all the way from witty, sardonic, amusing, dry, and charming, to laugh out loud, belly laughing, foot-stamping funny. We hope in this volume you’ll find something to tickle your funny bone or cause you to smile.
To commemorate the centenary of World War I, Kāpiti Coast District Libraries’ second annual poetry contest – If You’re a Poet We Want to Know It – welcomed poets of all ages to submit poems with the theme of “War & Peace”.
Included in this anthology is every submission the library received, a total of 85 poems, in each of three age groups: Children (6–12), Teens (13–18) and Adults (19+).
