Biography
Between the romance and the adventure, author Kari Barnum hopes her readers will dive into her international love story heart first. Drawing on her own personal experiences while working internationally in remote Africa, she hopes her readers will be taken on a journey of love and self-discovery, with a little drama mixed in.
This is Kari’s first romance novel. She has been a contributing author in a women’s empowerment book, entitled “Empower: Women’s Stories of Breakthrough, Discovery and Triumph.” Providing her first taste of writing, this experience opened a new door of possibilities. Writing her first romance novel was nothing she expected to do but something that came so easy to her. Using her own personal experiences, she worked to create relatable and familiar characters that she hopes her readers will fall in love with.
Kari embarked on career in nursing that took her to Niger, Uganda, Ethiopia, Liberia and the United Arab Emirates. In addition to Nursing, Kari also has a Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine. Currently, she is working internationally as a nurse for the US State Department. Unfortunately, although her character, Kassie, found love, Kari remains hopelessly single.
