Kathleen, under the pen name K.C. Mitchell, draws her ideas from her varied past and the interesting people she has known throughout her life. As a single-mother for many years, she understands the value of caring for her family while at the same time working toward her own dreams.

She completed her B.A. in English Language and Literature at Columbus State University. She currently resides in Columbus, Georgia, enjoying her children and granddaughter between novels .

K.C.’s debut novel, The Tapestry of A. Taylor, the first of The Tapestry Series, is followed by her second, The Weaving of A Warrior. The 3rd book in the series, The Fate of A Family, will launch in June 2018.

What are you working on next?
My next novel, Slaves of Destiny, will be out in time for Christmas 2015. It is a love story between a slave owner's abusive husband's wife and his chief slave. Their love must be secret yet, as they grow in strength and passion, their secrets become impossible to hide. Set in the last years before the Emancipation Proclamation, the setting for this love story shows authentic background, unmatchable passion, and unheard of circumstances. The events surrounding this couple will keep readers midnight oil burning!
