Throughout my career I have researched, attended conferences, joined associations and networked with the best and the brightest in the staffing community. I've sourced, screened, interviewed candidates as well as negotiated thousands of job offers. I've written one book to help job seekers by revealing what H.R. and the hiring manager are looking for in their next hire. My second book was written to assist corporations of all sizes to scale back and concentrate on what really matters when looking for your next new employee.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My first books were on job search. So may people approach me asking me to assist with their job search. I just don't have the time to help everyone so I wrote a very comprehensive job search book titled, Corporate Recruiter Reveals Who Gets Hired and Why. I wanted to complement that book with my staffing knowledge so I wrote my most recent book, Corporate Recruiter Reveals Hiring Strategies That Work. I have a passion for all things staffing and wanted to express what I have learned throughout my 20 years of serving as a recruitment consultant to mostly large corporations.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I spent years and a lot of money attending conferences, networking, mailings, researching, to try to get signed by a major book publishing company. I tried so very hard to get an agent to sign with me but I just didn't have the name recognition required to be signed. I like that I can get my information to the public in a quicker fashion than the years it took spending way too much time and money going the more traditional route.
