When reading the original, handwritten manuscripts from Ed Klepps, you felt like he was in the room telling you the story. Ken's greatest goal was to keep that feeling; he had to hear Ed's voice when reading the book. Edmund Klepps was a true hero. He grew up during the Great Depression. He was aboard the USS Helena at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked on December 7, 1941. He found his way to the USS Detroit, where he saw the end of the war in Tokyo Bay. He was then discharged from the Navy, and started on a new adventure - family.
