Smashwords Interview

What are your five favorite books, and why?
Iyanla Vanzant, Value in the Valley has to be one of the most profound books I've ever read. It struck a cord with my soul when I needed to find peace within my situation. It was if the author was speaking directly to me. I consider her one of my e-mentors in dealing with real life dramas and traumas in a spiritual way.
What's the story behind your latest book?
A Dime to My Name: Breaking the Silence, Healing the Brokenness, & Living the Dream is a memoir that takes the reader on a journey from childhood sexual abuse where the perpetrator gave me a dime afterward. In that moment, my self-worth was held hostage and my relationship to money was destroyed. The emotional healing spanned a lifetime that later revealed PTSD triggering Bi-Polar II which brought me to several suicide attempts. Learning how to love myself, forgive my offender, and move in a direction to live the life of my dreams was not easy...but, here I am!
