What are your favorite books, and why?
1. Godel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid is a great inspiration to me. I am over awed with its originality and for putting science in the right context among art and faith. I also borrowed the idea of hare and tortoise from that book. Though I considered other options, hare and tortoise were universal, and culture and religion neutral.
2. The Goal by Glodratt Eliyahu was referred to me by my operations research professor at IIM Calcutta. I fell in love with the book for its expressing big ideas in simplistic way and for making learning entertaining.
3. Soul Mountain by Gao Xiingjian was a great pleasure reading. I fell in love with mountains and China after reading that book.
