Tonya McQuade is an English Teacher at Los Gatos High School in Los Gatos, California. Along with fellow English Teacher Kathleen Wehr, she has helped her English 9 Honors classes produce six ebook poetry anthologies. She has also released her own poetry anthology of early works, titled "Time Capsule: My Teenage Self," which includes poems she wrote in junior high and high school.

More recently, Tonya has published a nonfiction book titled "A State Divided: The Civil War Letters of James Calaway Hale and Benjamin Petree of Andrew County, Missouri," which is available on Amazon. She is a writer for the Emerging Civil War website and has her own blog, titled "Chasing History: Exploring My Ancestral Roots."

Tonya is a member of South Bay Writers/California Writers Club, the National League of American Pen Women, Emerging Civil War, and Poetry Center San Jose.
