Lara Song

Lara is a native of Maryland where she is often found trying to get away from her four demanding kids. Aside from changing diapers and chasing away monsters, she spends her time in the world of fiction. She was first published in 2005 for poetry while attending her local community college. She is a lover of all things linguistic. She is known to consume up to three books daily. If you are looking for someone to give you an honest opinion about your writing, she may agree. Her first novel "Becoming Mrs. Zendahl" was completely written, edited, distributed, and marketed without any outside support (aside from Mark Coker and his awesome free ebook!).

Smashwords Interview

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
No. I'm pretty sure it was in my head and I probably had a difficult time expressing myself to the "big people."
What is your writing process?
I start with a general plot: Who did what and why? From there, I explore names and places. I use a very drawn out outline that my characters try to ignore. I've learned to map out half and see what happens. If I get stuck, I go back to the drawing board. I find knowing where I'm going leads to better creativity.
