"I'm a hopeless romantic with a dark side. Be warned, I may give my characters their Happily Ever After, but I make them work hard for it!"
Laura is a self-confessed computer and gadget geek. She has always had a wild imagination and a sense of creativity that often runs away with her, engrossing her for days in many a story that haunts her thoughts until it eventually makes it to the page. An avid rock music fan, Laura spends most of her free time listening to music at home or going to concerts with her friends, and this love of music often makes its way into her creative writing.

What is your writing process?
I love to fully immerse myself in my new story lines and have been known to hide away as much as possible until the rough draft is done. I switch off from normality but it doesn't take too long and then once the basic, bones draft has flowed the editing phase is where I have the most amount of fun. I have a very skeletal version, lacking in detail and depth to the characters and scenes and that's when I let my research shine or develop the characters and my 'writing voice' truly comes through. I then keep on editing over and over again until I end up with a version I am no longer feeling the need to amend or add to.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love romance novels, any kind of romance is usually fine by me! I particularly enjoy gritty, edgy story lines with epic scenes and gripping dialogue. I'm not one for sweet romances, rather suspense and action, o the edge of your seat sort of stuff.
