Leanne Halling was born and raised in Southeast Washington State where she spent her childhood swimming and boating on the Columbia River, under the blazing sun, darting rattlesnakes on walks through sage brush laden trails and picking luscious concord grapes fresh off the vine. Childhood soon turned to teen-hood - teen-hood to adulthood when Leanne settled on the opposite side of the Cascade Mountains in the beautiful Willamette Valley in the state of Oregon.
Though as a hobby she enjoyed writing throughout the "hoods", it wasn't until 2009 that Leanne began to actively pursue a writing career. Having worked with children since 1997 Leanne was inspired to focus her writing on children's literature. To that end she studied children's writing under the guidance of a private tutor with Institute for Children's Literature.
Leanne currently resides in Oregon where she continues to pursue her career as a children's book author.
Who are your favorite authors?
My inspirations for writing children's books are Beatrix Potter and A.A Milne. I admire their ability to entertain on different levels, both the children being read to and the adults who read to them.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Work, work, work. I'm a Library Assistant which I really enjoy but my passion is to be able to write, write write!
Ty Ger is just noticing he has an "irregularity". The friends he's grown up with in the jungle have noticed it, too. Find out how judgement and rejection are narrowly avoided and acceptance is quickly embraced.
Imagine what it would be like to live in a book where everything you imagine happens as you're imagining it. You can switch locations, time periods and characters at will. For a 3 to 5 old year that book might read something like the exciting adventures that take place in Look, I'm in a Book!

Luckily Teacher knows just what is needed to help Ava feel excited again about being at preschool with her friends. There lives on the earth a life form so extraordinary and mysterious that even though scientists have been studying it for hundreds of years they still don’t know everything about it. See if you can figure out what the life form is before the end of the book!
Oh what adventures await when You and I step foot on Sidewalk, a concrete "magic carpet", who whisks the adventurers away on an eye opening trip through Peaceful Forest where the residents are going about their business, buzzing, tumbling or flying through their day. There are always plenty of unexpected surprises and discoveries any time You and I hop aboard Sidewalk.
