A great who-dunnit and why set in a pueblo of New Mexico. The story grows, much like the deaths. Loved how the Native American beliefs and traditions were seamlessly integrated into the modern lives of the peublo village. The little twists were satisfying while the , and I’ll be looking out for more in this series.

I read this book a while ago and couldn’t put it down. Tense, well-paced with haunting characters. Still thinking about it. Not everyone’s cup of tea with some political and social themes you may not want to address. An Australian story without the beach or the usual settings. Gritty with some dark humor. Ultimately, this story, in my opinion, is a powerful look at alienation, misunderstanding and reaching out. The father-son relationship, both suffering from PTSD, is so touching.

This thriller is set mostly in Boston and New York. Although there’s nothing much new in this tale of revenge, the main character’s attempts to maintain his everyman identity is well portrayed, with his abilities well foreshadowed. There’s wasn’t a point where the action wasn’t believable. Extremely violent, this thriller is solid, avoiding that current traditional publishing tactic of losing me in the last few chapters by throwing in a plot twist that makes no sense. A good thriller for a short, satisfying read.
