Leo Cappel

Smashwords Interview

Why?
Why I am an author? I wish I knew. I just can't help myself.

Are you a full-time author?

Actually, I am a three-way artist.

Three way?

Yes, I am an author, but also a sculptor and a musician.

How do you reconcile those three art forms?

For instance by writing a musical. The characters begin on blanc pages, like when you write a novel. The stage settings, masks and costumes satisfy the visual artist in me, and writing the music is where the musician comes in.

It must be an amazing experience, to sit in the audience at opening night..

Difficult to explain the feeling. Suddenly the characters are real people, moving around in front of you, and the musicians and singers make music exactly like you had heard it in your mind, before all of that was just scribles on paper.
