This book is a quick and relatively easy read. Decent YA Dystopian story with one part "The Running Man," one part "Hackers," and one part "Pretties." It does take a couple of chapters to adjust to the language, but it is more readable after that. There are some pretty good action scenes throughout. I am fascinated by the young blind Frag and wish the author went into detail a little more about her.. The characters are just intriguing enough to make it hard not to want to read any possible sequels. LT Member Giveaways Gamers Thomas K. Carpenter

A quick and easy read for adults. The story starts off a little slow, but about a third of the way through, the flow of the writing is much better. Then you just have to finish it to see what happens to the villagers. Also, the second half is more family-friendly, while the first half seems to be geared more for adults only. Maybe the author should write two versions! Overall, funny novella with some memorable Scottish characters. LT Member Giveaway [book:The MacLosers|15815089] [author:Paul Moxham|5428449]

  • The Complete Monster Exchange Program on March 07, 2013

An interesting comedy compilation of high school monster misfits. All of the short stories included in this collection are decent, although some outshine the others. • Broken Life Journals - A Fight for Forever on Aug. 07, 2013

A decent historical romance; however, the writing seemed to lose momentum from time to time. This work has lots of potential! The female MC has a great story, but comes off a little annoying. The scenery is nicely described. LT Member Giveaway [author:Vangie Williams|2956354] [book:Broken Life - A Fight for Forever - Book 1|8421244]

A beautiful and moving story about what happens after a soldier comes home. The characters and the gorgeous setting illustrate a realistic and lovely world. Hawaii is a character by itself. Not only does the author portray the returning soldier well, but she does an excellent job describing the feelings and thoughts of his family. The story revolves around the veteran's trauma, but also everyone who cares about him. I love it. LT Member Giveaways
  • Paleo Desserts: Mouth Watering, Indulgent, and Easy to Make Paleo Desserts for Losing Weight, Feeling Great, and Satisfying Your Primal Cravings on March 10, 2014

This dessert collection is put together very well. It has an introduction on the basic ingredients used in most of the recipes, about 50 dessert recipes with alternatives, substitutions, and some notes, and a few paleo books for further information. I have tried the candied pecans and it's delicious. I cannot wait to try the simple popsicle recipe! Recommended to readers and cooks interested in the paleo diet or anyone who wants to eat dessert without feeling guilty. LT Member Giveaway

  • Paleo Smoothies: Fast, Easy, and Delicious Paleo Smoothie Recipes for Losing Weight, Feeling Great, and Satisfying Your Primal Cravings on July 16, 2014

A beginner's guide to Paleo smoothies with more than 80 different recipes. All of the combinations have easy to follow instructions and a few of the recipes are original (I haven't seen them in other smoothie ebooks). Most of the recipes are sweet, but the author has included a few savory smoothies as well. Good for anyone wanting to eat a bit healthier. Also a good start for convincing kids to eat more fruits and veggies. LT Member Giveaway
  • Uncontrollable (Book 2: The Nature of Grace series) on Aug. 10, 2014

4.5 Stars A great sequel! The author successfully creates another YA adventure thriller that stars a strong and unique MC. The characters, research, scenery, and storyline are developed well and I found myself holding my breath a few times. I love that conservation is a major theme and that the novel makes the reader laugh and tear up. Recommended for youth and adults, especially fans of smart adventure thrillers.
  • Paleo On the Go: Fast, Easy, Portable, and Delicious Paleo Recipes for Losing Weight, Feeling Great, and Satisfying Your Primal Cravings on Sep. 14, 2014

3.5-3.75 Stars A nice assortment of clear and easy to follow Paleo recipes. There's a good intro at the beginning and lots of dishes that include eggs, chicken, and salads. A whole chapter is spent on marinades as well. The Paleo cereal is delicious and I am looking forward to trying out the trail mix and the spinach quiche recipe. There's a few more ebooks by this author if you like this one. Since this book includes quite a few breakfast recipes, try Paleo Slow Cooking for dinnertime. Recommended. LT Member Giveaways
