Lucy Barge

Lucy Barge is a young writer in her junior years of High School, who has dreamed of being an author since the age of three. She takes every opportunity in and out of school to write. In 2017, Lucy joined a creative writing class along with going to authors websites for help, and is now ready to send in her short stories for publication. She is still unsure of what career the future will lead her to, but knows that working on being an author is a definite.
Genres she enjoys writing about include Mysteries, Tragedy and History. Lucy is currently working on some short stories to get her started, and then hopes to move on to novels. In her free time she loves to write (of course), read, get involved in church activities, play the piano, tap dance and spend time with her family and her cat. Lucy lives with her family in Timaru, New Zealand. You can reach her at

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
I first started writing at the age of 3. Not seriously, but I drew the pictures and told my parents what to write. To this day I still have those books. I started seriously writing this year, in my first year of high school.
What are you currently working on?
At the moment I am writing new short stories that cover many different genres. Once I have written enough, I hope to put them together as a volume 2 collection. (Volume 1 being "Bursting at the Seams".)
