I received this complimentary copy of this book from Voracious Readers via Smashwords. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book besides some elephants and trainers, what I got from this book was a lovely, descriptive, well written book that had you rooting for the main character, Ashok and his elephants. Berger envelops you in his prose with the language and you can imagine you are there with the elephants, and Ashoka. I am not familiar with this part of world history but I thoroughly enjoyed immersing myself in this world.
