When did you first start writing?
I wrote my first story, a romance between a professional nature photographer and his research assistant, in 2001. It was never published, but it still has a soft spot in my heart.
What are you working on next?
I am working on my first literary novel entitled We, the One. How the story came about is a bit fuzzy, but it was one of those stories that 'just happened'. One day I had the idea, then about month later the first draft was done. There are a few things that I still need to research (to get my facts straight) but otherwise I am basically busy with my editing. After I am satisfied that I have sorted out all the plot gaps, and inconsistencies (I am very good with these aspects of writing) then the manuscript goes to a professional editor to fix all my language and grammar boo-boos (yeah, these are not my strong points).
The cover is still a concept in my head, but as soon as the manuscript goes to the editor, I will focus my energy on getting the cover sorted out. I am fortunate that my husband is an absolute master at Photoshop, and an excellent photographer too. With his help I usually get a cover that is exactly what I envisage for a book. After he does the graphics, I add the title and my name using the fonts and styles that are in line with the rest of my brand. Since this is a standalone book, I can stretch my mind with something different than my previous books. Exciting stuff, that's for sure.
