Smashwords Interview

What motivated you to become an indie author?
I've wanted to be a writer since I can remember. One of the first things I remember in kindergarten was writing my first book... with the help of my teacher, Miss Landry. The other children were playing with all of the interesting toys in the room. Not me. I was sitting at my seat making my own pages of illustrations with coloring crayons. I didn't know how to spell anything yet. She spelled everything out that I wanted to express and let me staple my illustrations together. When it was done, I was holding my first book in my hands. My passion for writing and books has never stopped growing! When eBooks took off, I knew this was it! This was my chance to write! Traditional publishing as we know it is changing! It's never been more of a reality than now for writers to reach for their God-given dreams!
What do your fans mean to you?
My readers really inspire me to keep writing! I love it when someone takes a moment to let me know what they thought about my books. It wouldn't be any fun writing without someone to enjoy it. I like knowing that somehow, maybe I inspired and encouraged someone else out there. I like knowing that what I write makes a difference in someone else's life for the better. I'm always praying and asking the Lord to shine through me for His people of faith to be strengthened, renewed and blessed.
