What is your writing process?
It varies actually. Sometimes I will get an idea from a song lyric, or the general feel of a song. With just one sentence, I can visualize a character saying, or feeling that exact emotion, and then I just let my mind run with it. An entire character, or synopsis can form in my mind based on that alone. From there I just fill in the blanks.
Sometimes it seems as though the sentences write themselves. I may have a general scene in mind, of what's going to happen, but often I don't know what is going to be said, or what will happen, until I have already typed it out. It is a very organic process when it happens that way. Sometimes I will be in the car, or running errands, and a thought will come to me, I have to write it down, because often I just know that a whole scene will come from it. Those are the times that I will pop my laptop open and start typing. Other times, I will put my headphones on and listen to some music while I write, that is when things really start to flow.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read paranormal romance mostly. YA, young adult. I feel that that is where the most creative writing is right now. I like to see and feel the world that the author has created come to life around me. When I forget that what I'm reading is a story. I think lots of readers feel the same way. It's about making me forget, bringing me somewhere else, and making me care about that place, and those people. That's what I like the most.
