Lynda L. Lock
Born in a British Columbia Canada gold mining community that is now essentially a ghost town, Lynda has had a very diverse working career. Her employment background has included a bank clerk, antique store owner, ambulance attendant, volunteer firefighter, supervisor of a cutting edge SkyTrain transit control centre, partner in a bed & breakfast, partner in a micro-brewery, and finally a hotel manager. The adventure and the experience were always far more important than the paycheque.
Writing has always been in the background of her life, starting with travel articles for a local newspaper, an unpublished Great Canadian Novel written before her fortieth birthday, and articles for an American safety magazine.
When she and her husband, Lawrie Lock, retired to Isla Mujeres, Mexico in 2008, they started a weekly blog, Notes from Paradise – Isla Mujeres, to keep friends and family up to date on their newest adventure.
Needing something more to keep her active mind occupied, Lynda and island friend, Diego Medina, self-published a bi-lingual book for children, The Adventures of Thomas the Cat / Las Aventuras de Tómas el Gato. The book won Silver at the 2016 International Latino Book Awards for best bi-lingual picture book for children.
Then Lynda created the Isla Mujeres Mystery series. The mysteries are populated by quirky characters who live on Isla Mujeres, a tiny island in the Caribbean Sea near Cancun Mexico. If you want a great beach reads that includes a touch of history mixed in with mystery, romance, murder and mayhem the Isla Mujeres Mystery series is exactly what you need. Come join the adventure!
