I'm a longtime journalist and first-time novelist. I realized that I was a good writer when my college philosophy professor gave me an A+ on my final exam and commented, "I don't know if you know the material or can write really well."
I started my career at TIME where I was involved with the magazine's Watergate coverage. I discovered the joy of reporting on government at its most basic at a Maine newspaper, for which I received an award from the New England Press Association. I love to travel and have visited Scotland several times. I'm at work on my second novel.
