Maureen Larter

Biography

The picture on my profile shows my illustrator, Annie Gabriel and myself (the lower of the two figures) at a book signing. I write books for children under my own name (viewAuthor.at/MaureenLarter) and under the pen-name Marguerite Wellbourne when I write for adults. (viewAuthor.at/MargueriteWellbourne). I live in N.S.W. Australia and have been writing all my life, but only got serious about it 10 years ago. My career has been as a teacher - of English and Music. I still teach piano and violin at home although I am now retired from school teaching. I spent several months living in China teaching English in 2006 and have written most of my books since I arrived back.
I will continue to write - I have several books already started - ranging from picture books and chapter books for children, to garden guides and adult literature. My next adult book will be a sci-fi!
