Elisa Denk

Elisa's writing career began when she wrote a book about her trip to Italy. It was written in pencil on construction paper. She was in kindergarten.

In her Creative Writing classes, she received mostly high grades. The poem she wrote about her clarinet... didn't. She learned that she is a perfectionist when it comes to punctuation, proper grammar and spelling.

Then life got busy and she forgot about writing. When life slowed down, the Writing Bug bit her. She's been writing ever since. So much so that she has been known to request blank journals/composition books and pens for gifts.

She writes what the Lord gives her and publishes with His approval.

When not writing, she spends time with her own hero husband and her delightful Nebelung cat.

Smashwords Interview

What is the story behind, "Immanuel"?
In the year 2006, I was reading many Christmas stories. All hearth and home, the wonders of Santa Claus, the delight when opening Christmas presents… oh and snow, lots and lots of snow! So, I asked God to download a Christmas story to me.

Much later, I ended up really sick; bedridden with high temperatures and chills. During this time, God gave me my Christmas story, “Immanuel”. He gave me just enough information to write longhand each day, with just enough energy to do it.

After I felt better, it took me one week to enter all I had written into the computer. Then Life got in the way.
Each holiday season, I’d start thinking about “Immanuel”. I would spend time working on it, until…inevitably…Life got in the way.

This is the final product. Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
What is the story behind, "Cruising in the Spirit"?
Developing a heart for Mexico while taking a Spanish class in high school, and with my soaring imagination, Carissa gets the vacation I wanted. Living vicariously through her is delightful. Well… except for the intrigue and an adventure or two. Her constitution is stronger than mine.
