Once, I was a child. I slowly grew up (or older, at least) and began a series of adult lives.
In one life I was an avid mountaineer. Unfortunately, that is a fun but poor life. In another life I was a molecular biologist. All those years of nights and weekends at the bench led to a Ph.D., which led to biotech. Biotech led to a life as a usability/system engineer for medical systems.
My current life is centered around smashing words together to form stories. And in the future...???
