Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a rural town in Northern California. The valley consisted of mostly farms, orchards, and country roads. Our family had enough money to live comfortably, but with few extravagances. We children were forced to use our imaginations to keep ourselves occupied. Bicycles, skateboards made from a piece of wood and broken skates, a piece of cardboard used as a sled, etc. We were taught good (old fashioned) morals, respect, hard work ethics and love.
I think the life we had as children gave us a good base to become caring charitable adults, and this is the basis for my writing.
When did you first start writing?
I began writing several years ago as I was taking graphic design classes toward a degree. The writing classes I took created an interest in writing beyond blogs and social networks.
