Began writing stories when I was in early Middle school, not taking long at all to discover what I wanted to write about the most. I drew from my own experiences and the experiences of those around me that effected me personally to developed my writing voice. My philosophy is to write the kinds of books I would like to read, drawing that from J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.
Spent five years in the Marine Corps Infantry before settling down in my hometown back in Wisconsin.
When did you first start writing?
When I was twelve, in the middle of the night, sitting at the desk under my loft when with a school notebook in front of me and a dull pencil.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. It's a fantasy I started when I was twelve, and am currently rewriting to reflect how I've grown as a writer. I'll still keep the original draft, to remind myself of that every time I look at it.
