Other folk that I knew dreamed of fast cars, big houses, or supermodels; I dreamed of dragons, dark goddesses, and blood stained heroes. It took me a long time before I realized that writing fiction was the way to reconcile those dreams (unless, of course, anyone knows of a dragon ranch nearby).
Currently, I'm a retail worker, married to a wonderfully understanding and patient woman who's support may be my greatest asset.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Ultimately I would like to seek out traditional publishing, but, as I understand, it can be a long process that seems to involve quite a bit of luck. Taking the route of an indie author, I believe, will give me the chance to get published, find and build an audience, create some buzz, and (hopefully) give me some clout in the future when querying a traditional publisher. In that sense, I believe that it will allow me to create my own luck.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
Ah, good question to ask once I have something to succeed with.
