Ian Martyn lives in Surrey in the United Kingdom. Following a degree in zoology he spent thirty years working in the pharmaceutical industry. On leaving to become a consultant he was determined to complete and publish those science fiction stories that he had started and were rattling around in his head. When did you first start writing?
I've been writing for about 15 years, although for the first 10 of those I didn't get past the first 10 pages or so. I left full time employment about 5 years ago and its from then that I've taken my writing seriously
What's the story behind your latest book?
I have always believed in the imagination of the human race to overcome any problems. However, when I look around I am dismayed at the mess we are making of the planet. I wanted to write about a possible, ultimate conclusion of that 'mess' while still giving hope for mankind.
