In 1995 Mary Jo Smith-Obolensky founded Dynamic Doingness, Inc. (DDi), a translations boutique that specialized in Latin American Spanish. In April 2011, DDi launched a series of articles on language, social sciences, and current affairs written by the company’s VP Ivan Obolensky that were translated into Spanish.
In 2014, Smith-Obolensky Media was launched as a DBA under DDi to produce videos of the articles, compile a collection of the most popular articles, and promote education.
February 6, 2018, Smith-Obolensky Media published Ivan’s debut novel, "Eye of the Moon", which has won five awards to date, including “Best First Book (Fiction)” (IndieReader Discovery Awards), a Gold Medal for “Intrigue” (Readers’ Favorite International Book Awards) and a Silver Medal/2nd Place for “Mystery/Thriller/Horror/Suspense” (Feathered Quill Book Awards).
Smith-Obolensky Media will be launching the Spanish translation of the novel at the end of 2019, and Ivan Obolensky is writing the sequel for Eye of the Moon, set for release in 2020.
