Maurice resides in suburban NJ with his wife Ande and two children. Maurice and Ande have been writing stories since their childhood specializing in sci-fi and fantasy.
When did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the '70s when stories and movies were pretty dull, especially from a child's point of view. Star Trek had been cancelled years before, and reruns were shown at odd hours. Then Star Wars came and suddenly I was Luke Skywalker staring at the twin suns, longing for more, dreaming of possibilities... Within three years I'd written my first sci-fi short story.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
I still have the loose leaf sheet on which I wrote my first story. (wink) It was based on a dream I had after seeing a trailer for the 1980 movie Xanadu. I expanded it years later, and maybe I'll publish it one day as a children's novelette.
